Disclaimer: I ALREADY KNOW THAT THIS ISN'T THE FULL PIECE! It is missing the harmonies. That was INTENTIONAL. Please keep that in mind when rating/commenting on this tab in the archives. There is another version of this piece up on the archives that has all the harmonies. About 1 1/2 years ago I decided to arrange this piece for 1 guitar, so that I could perform it myself. Therefore, this has only the melody part. In part E the melody and harmony are contrapuntal, so at times it was difficult to determine which was which. In that section and a few times elsewhere I combined segments of both melody and harmony to make the song sound as full and accurate as is possible when played by one guitar.
Oh, and even though it seems like there are 2 guitars here, the "classical guitar" can be played by an electric guitar, neck pickup, with the tone knob really low.
Playing tips:
This can be a fairly hard piece for some people. Follow notations for picking, legato, and sweeping, as well as the following hints, and you should be alright.
The classical section is perhaps the trickiest part. The fingerings that I use are a little convoluted at times, but I think they work well. The roman numerals tell which fret you bar at, and the dashed lines coming from the numerals say for how long.
At the second beat of m. 67, you have to jump your hand. Same thing, but in the opposite direction, in the first beat of m. 69.
In the last beat of m. 70, where there are two 9s in a row, you may want to roll your finger a little bit, a la sweep picking.
You may not be able to see it due to a glitch in some versions of powertab, but the last note of m. 82 is a downstroke (staple). This helps set you up for the string skip that follows.
I know the stretching in m. 87 sucks. Deal with it. I don't know a better way.
The fingering that I would use for m. 93 is:
1,4,2,2,1,4,1,4,2,3,1,4,4,1,2,1,3,1,4,3,1,2,1,1.
What appears to be economy picking in m. 99 and 100 is really just 2 consecutive downstrokes, but not economy picked. The same thing goes for m. 109, 120, 124, 125, and 128.
The picking in m. 102 and 105 seems counterintuitive, but I've found that it works well.
The one thing I couldn't figure out: How do you get from m. 112 to m. 113. As best as I can tell just jump. Jump like the dudes in the matrix. It might help to cut the very very last note of m. 112 a little short (not that you have much to cut from). Good luck.
The fingering that I use for m. 114 is as follows:
4,2,1,4,2,1,2,4,1,4,1,2,4,2,1,4,3,2,1,2,1,4,1,2.
