intro: combined effects; whammy pedal, toggle switch, slapback delay, (wah?). I think Morello slides his hand up and down the fretboard while using the toggle switch. The whammy is used to alter the pitches in some places and is left on when all strings are struck.
For verse: set Whammy pedal up 2 octaves. Hammer on the note and simultaneously scoop tremelo bar and release quickly to pitch. Then slowly start to depress bar and then fast at end of each measure. You could also use whammy pedal instead to alter the pitch.
For the guitar solo: strike the open stings and use the toggle swith for the rythm while using the tremelo bar to alter the picthes, (use amp feedback too). Sorry i can't tab this...
During the break after the 1st solo, use distortion to beef up the sound. Then leave it on and add phaser and slide your fingers up and down the top two strings. You should create the breath like noise. You could still recreate it without phaser.
