All parts should be religiously alternate picked (down, up, down, up, down up). the only exceptions being Adrian's chords in the chorus and under the gutiar solo.
Try to move your fingers to each note on the same fret, don't bar the frets or let the notes ring out longer than their duration.
start slow and clean then build it up to speed.. then learn to sing it at the same time =o)
i think nearly all of the fingerings are totally accurate to what they play live, if im wrong on any of them i'd love to know so i can correct it.
Bass is played on a 10 string chapman stick in standard 4th's/5th's tuning, transcribed here for 5 string bass (taken from guitar magazine august 1958)
