First performed pubicly by Barrios on June 20, 1928 in the theater "La Argentina". As usual, upon his stay in Argentina, Barrios absorbed the culture of his surroundings and turned it into song. The "Pericon" is a dance of Argentina. A series of movements following the rhythm of a slow waltz.

This piece I learned from the Guitar Works Barrios series edited by Richard Stover. 99% of the fingerings and tempo suggestions are taken directly from this publication, widely regarded as the best Barrios transcriptions available. There are some tough stretches, but these are all playable with practice.
