According to original sheet music from 1945, it was not cowritten by Gene Autry, as stated on some websites. Adding to the confusion are more recent recordings by Rod Stewart and Van Morrison titled "Have I Told You Lately": this is NOT the same song. The lyrics are entirely different, as is the music itself. The Gene Autry et al. versions are noticeably bluegrass-inspired.
