"New Year" is a pop song written by British group Sugababes, and Jony Lipsey, Cameron McVey, Felix Howard, Matt Rowe and Paul Simm for their debut studio album One Touch (2000). It was co-produced by Lipsey, McVey and Simm. The song was released as the album's second single in the winter of 2000 and reached the top fifteen in the United Kingdom, where it sold 75,000 copies. It also reached the top thirty on the Irish Singles Chart, but failed to make an impact on the singles charts elsewhere. The music video for "New Year" was directed by Alex Hamming and filmed in London, England.
