Notice
Here you have all the positions for the major scale in
the guitar; we´ll take as example A major scale, but you
can play them on any other key just moving the
positions. Also I´ve included some exercises that you
can (and should) use with every one of the six
positions until you know them perfectly.
In position One you´ll begin with your 4th finger (pinky);
in position Two, with your 2nd (heart); and in position
Three, with your 1st (index).
Numbers over the notes mean the finger of your left
hand you have to use in this note (from 1= index to 4=
pinky). Notes with a "k" over them are tonics (A in this
example). Repetition bars are there to separate
sections.
For exercises we´ll use 6th String 2nd position, but
you can (and should) make them in all positions until
you learn them perfectly, slow in the firsts times (as
slow as you need, you can slow down the tempo, but
it´s important to keep a constant tempo through the
whole scale to get the best precision) and getting
faster little by little (don´t worry, time + practise will bring
finger agility). You can also try to invert them (I´ve
written the exercises in "up to down" way, but you can
(and should) do them, the same, from "down to up"
too). Don´t forget practise exercises in all positions.
With time I´ll may add more scales, so keep looking if
you´re interested ;)
Hope it helps you.
