In 2003 Delta Goodrem suffered from cancer at the age of 18. In the end of 2004 Goodrem released her second album Mistaken Identity after the highly commercially succesful debut album Innocent Eyes. The song "Extraordinary Day" is one of the 4 songs on the album that deals with her sickness. Though "Extraordinary Day" is considered to be the most biographical one. The songs deals with the moment Goodrem heared that she was diagnosed with cancer. One of the lyrics involve "I know I can't change fate of that July the 8th". On that day, on July the 8th 2003, she was diagnosed.
