seconds off from the real song!!)
another great song by rage against the machine. the
intro effects were created by a custom ibanez guitar
tom morello owns, it would be nearly impossible to
re-create the sounds again with a guitar, without that
specific guitar so i wouldn't even bother with that part.
for the guitar solo: it was made by tom taking a pencil
and holding it with his picking hand and then rocking
the pencil back and forth pretty fast so that the eraser
hits the strings & the pencil hits the guitar. pretty
screwed up, but it sounds cool. he also throws a
slapback delay on it. i re-created this by just adding
some dead notes on the appropriate strings that would
make it the right pitch. i think it sounds ok, but its not
near perfect. on the last bar of dead notes, slide your
left hand up the strings to create a slide effect with the
dead notes. good luck!
the rest of the song is pretty straightforward and simple.
