According to the Band, this song is about Ritalin and its misuse by a good part of the nation. On a broader scale it also encompasses their views on how we're becoming what I call "a nation of pill-popping blobs". They make the medicine, push the medicine on you, lead us to believe we need more, and then we're screwed for life.
