Notice
Danny Gatton recorded this piece with a Gibson ES-295 with a Bigsby vibrato bar through an Echoplex. The delay length was set to make eighth triplets out of each eighth note. This makes a nice slapback echo that's used throughout the piece.
a) Gatton makes ample use of the Bigsby in sections C and D (the bass solo).
b) In section F, Gatton uses the tone control to imitate a wah pedal swell (sort of). The tone pot must be turned from 0 to 10 evenly in eighths in order to recreate this effect.
c) You will need Hybrid Picking to deal with some passages. That means using the pick and fingers to hit the strings.
d) At the end of the piece there's two measures articulated with the Bigsby vibrato. Due to difficulties found to tab Gatton's pull-ups with the tremolo bar in PowerTab some changes were necessary: the chords are written half step above the original position and the F9 chord is reached when returning to normal position [originally the F9 chord is reached twice in measure 181 by pulling the bar to raise the pitch]. Also there's a little ghost note used there to return to normal pitch before the ending lick. I look forward to learn better the PowerTab Editor and fix that part soon.
e) Enjoy the piece, is a great rockabilly workout and it has some challenging passages to deal with. And don't forget the swing feel.
