Notice
Most of the sections of this tune feature three guitars, one rhythm and two which play lines in harmony (usually thirds). The basic tonality for the intro, verse and chorus sections is E Aeolian (E,F#,G,A,B,C,D). The first eight bars of the guitar solo section shift the tonality to A aeolian (A,B,C,D,E,F,G) and all lines are based on this mode. All subsequent bars are again based on E Aeolian. The toughest riff in this piece appears in bar 13, which features rapid fretboard tapping and the use of frets 22,23, & 24, which many guitars do not accomodate. The solo section as a whole combines "flash" technique with balanced trading between the two soloists. This tune might not make you want to go to church, but it will be fun to work out as a lesson in harmony lines and metal writing as a whole.
