Notice
The guitars in this song are tuned to dropped-D, and then tuned another half step down (Db Ab Db Gb Bb eb). To throw in a monkey wrench, a capo is put on the 2nd fret... so the resulting tonality of the song is Eb. I had a good deal of the song transcribed before seeing the AOL sessions video, and had to redo a bunch of it. Realistically, You could play this song in standard Dropped-D, with the capo on the 1st fret, and it would sound the same.
-Since Jimmy Eat World tends to layer many guitar tracks, there are some parts of the song where I had to condense due to MIDI limitations... notably in the bridge where there are actually 2 clean guitars going. I've notated all these spots in the score.
so, heres the rundown:
Gtr I: rhythm guitar, doubled.
Gtr II: lead, generally refers to R channel
Gtr III: lead, generally refers to L channel
Gtr IV: acoustic guitar
Gtr. V: 2 clean guitars -Since the song is in Eb, the bass doesn't drop the E string down like the guitars do. (Eb Ab Db Gb)
-This score also includes the Rhodes piano part that is heard during the bridge. To make the standard notation readable, this guitar part is NOT capoed. You can play it with your guitar still capoed, just play the frets as written, and NOT in relation to the capo.
